ZEN-TOURNEY

2nd Annual Zen tournament announced

PinBrawl has grown by leaps and bounds the past few years and we are committed to continuing that success and popularity.  We are going to continue with a 2nd tournament to offer even more fun things to do at PinBrawl. This tournament will be a  ZEN-STYLE  tournament. Please read below and familiarize yourself with this fun and exciting style of pinball competition. We hope we get many teams interested in playing and look forward to seeing everyone who enters Pinbrawl tournaments at the new location.

THANK YOU,
John Kosmal - Pinlicious@gmail.com

What:

A Zen Tournament is where 2 players form a team and play at the same time. One player takes the left side of the machine and one player takes the right. You are allowed to play any way you like as long as you only use the flipper buttons on your side of the machine. (yes, you can have your other hand on the machine for nudging)

Where:

TBA

When:

TBA

Why:

To honor current Legends of Pinball honorees by using some of their most loved games that they worked on, and because playing Zen-style is really fun and random (just ask anyone in the Michigan Pinball League or anyone who has played in PinBrawl ZEN last year.),

Trophies:

1st place in both A and B get trophies (these will be the same ones being awarded in the main event) 4 trophies total
2nd place in both A and B get plaques (these will be the same ones being awarded in the main event) 4 plaques total

Rules:

      * Anyone can participate and be teammates.
      * You may purchase up to 2 entries.
      * You can only be matched up with any given player once.
      * If you enter twice, you will be placed on the same side of the bracket so you can't make it to the finals on two separate teams.
      * You *MUST* have 2 different partners if you wish to purchase two entries.
      * Each player operates only the flipper buttons on their side of the machine, you may alternate from ball to ball but not during the same ball in play.
      * Either player may plunge the ball, you may also alternate from ball to ball.
      * This is a single elimination tournament. (once you lose, you are out)
      * 2 teams will compete at the same time (HEAD TO HEAD) with the winner advancing to the next round.

Regardless of your skill level, everyone has an excellent chance of winning. This tournament is designed to be more about  fun and luck than about skill. While skill is still involved, it has a lot  to do with luck considering 2 players are playing at once and that the tournament will be run on EM machines. If you are a big fan of Norm Clark and Christian Marche and EM pinball machines, find a buddy and sign up asap

The Bracket and seeding teams:

The field will be limited to 64 teams and will function like the NCAA tournament bracket.
Seeding will be completely RANDOM  Once we fill the field of 64, we will then draw from a hat to get the match-ups. If a player enters twice, we will automatically place them on the same side of the bracket before the drawing.

    * A Bracket will have 32 teams
    * B Bracket will have 32 teams

(we will seed teams from 1-64 and that will determine who is in A and who will be in B.)

The Zen game(s): Machines designed by or Legends of Pinball will be used in this tournament.

Own a Norm Clark or Christian Marche game?

If you are the proud owner of a Norm Clark or Christian Marche game, show your spirit and bring it for us to use in the Zen tournament, as well as for everyone else to enjoy for the duration of the show.
