Format:
ZEN TOURNEY:
(2-man teams chosen by players, limited to 32 teams, Thursday night 7pm-12midnight)
Location: Birch Room
- You may purchase up to 2 entries.
- You can only be matched up with any given player once.
- If you enter twice, you will be placed on the same side of the bracket (IN SEPARATE
REGIONALS) so you can't make the finals on two separate teams, but it is possible
for the same person to make the semis.
- You *MUST* have 2 different partners if you wish to purchase two entries.
- Each player operates only the flipper buttons on their side of the machine, you
may alternate from ball to ball but not during the same ball in play.
- Either player may plunge the ball, you may also alternate from ball to ball.
- This is a single elimination tournament. (once you lose, you are out)
- 2 teams will compete at the same time (HEAD TO HEAD) with the winner advancing
to the next round. Each match will be a best of 3 series with the games chosen at
RANDOM. Choice of position will be determined by a coin toss for the 1st game. Loser
of 1st game will have choice of position for Game #2. Loser of the 2nd game will
have choice of position for Game #3.
- The Zen Tournament will feature an A and B division. Any player that has played
in the A or B division of PinBrawl must play the A division in the Zen Tournament.
Also, any player that is ranked in the top 100 in the World Pinball Player Rankings
must play in the A division of the Zen Tournament.
- The field will be limited to 64 teams (32 for each division) and will function
like the NCAA tournament bracket.
- Once we get down to the final 4 teams, it will be a group play final. Each team
will get to pick a machine for the final, with all 4 teams playing against eachother
on each of the machines. 1st place awards 7 points, 2nd place awards 5 points, 3rd
place awards 3 points, 4th place awards 1 point. The lowest seeded team will pick
first machine, second lowest seeded team will pick the second machine, second highest
seeded team will pick the third machine, and the highest seeded team will pick the
last machine. Choice of playing position will go as follows: Game 1 – 4th seed,
3rd seed, 2nd seed, 1st seed; Game 2 – 3rd seed, 2nd seed, 1st seed, 4th seed, Game
3 – 2nd seed, 1st seed, 4th seed, 3rd seed, Game 4 – 1st seed, 4th seed, 3rd seed,
2nd seed. A maximum of 28 points is available for any given team. The team with
the most points at the end of the 4 games is the winner. Ties will be handled in
a 1 game playoff.
