Volunteers
Without volunteers PinBrawl would not be where it is today. This is a true
people's tournament . PinBrawl will only continue to grow and be successful with
the continued support of past and present volunteers. If you can bring a game, help
set games up, fix games, level games, plug in games, bring a dolly or pinball cart,
get a friend to bring a game, hold a door for someone moving a game, ANYTHING AT
ALL... please contact us and get on the growing list of volunteers. Everyone is
welcome to join up.
THANK YOU to everyone
who did anything to help PinBrawl get to where it is today.

Here are some things we need help with...
Game set-up for PinBrawl
& pre-party:
This means you would be responsible for helping move in and set up games in the
hall using dollies and carts. You need to be very cautious when doing this job as
we appreciate all the people who bring games from their personal collection and
want to handle every pinball machine with the upmost care.
Game testers:
If you sign up for this job, it means you will help Josh and myself go around and
make sure games are worthy of PinBrawl play. We will work with game owners to make
sure games have the right settings, pitch, level, extra balls off, and correct tilt
settings. If you sign up for this you should be a very knowledgeable player and
also be a seasoned tournament player.
Utility people:
Pinball dollies, carts, extension chords, power strips, duct tape, zip ties, and
tools needed for game set up are appreciated if you can help out and bring some
of these items in case we run short. You can never have too much of these items
to help things run smoothly.
Rick Swanson Security
(R.S.S. inc.):
Rick Swanson is the brawn behind this operation. Basically your job will be to assist
Rick and guard doors that can and can't be used, extremely light lifting such as
picking up plastic wrap and tape when people unwrap their games and throw it on
the floor...BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY...you will hold doors as it takes great skill and
precision so we make sure no games get damaged in transit through gaping door jams.
Other duties include making sure water stations stay filled and cups are present,
running to find a bigger person to do your *light work* for you when a confrontation
arises from people trying to use locked doors, and getting lost when that one extra
person is needed to help hold a game when putting legs on. It is a lot to ask, I
know, but we have the top guy in the hobby as your leader and I am sure he will
train you to do a job equal to his.
Official Referees:
We will ask some PinBrawl Veterans who understand the rules inside and out to step
up and offer to help out other teams who have questions or need rulings throughout
the tournament. These people will be easy to identify because they will be wearing
armbands. It will help move the tournament along and will allow Josh and myself
to concentrate on keeping the matches going.
Duties of a referee:
To expedite the process of getting a ruling resolved between teams, we have designated some players at this year's tournaments as Referees to help consult teams that feel some type of ruling is needed or a malfunction has occurred. These referees consist of players that have not only PinBrawl experience, but also vast amounts of other tournament experience.
Because we think of PinBrawl as the players tournaments, we hope that many potential problems can be resolved fairly between any teams involved. If an agreement cannot be made, teams should look to grab a referee that is not involved in the incident.
The referees are available to offer guidance to the teams on how we would typically handle a similar situation, and can even make rulings themselves based on the printed tournament rules provided by the tournament directors.
Tournament directors John Kosmal and/or Josh Sharpe can ultimately be called in for a final ruling, but it is our intention that these referees possess the knowledge and fairness to reach a decision that works best in any given situation.
Referees will also help teams tabulate scoresheets if they are having problems during a match, or after a match is concluded.
Official Pinbrawl Photographers/Videographers:
We would like any and all of your photographs from this time period for the PinBrawl
website. We will use all photos as well as all video footage shot from the PinBrawl
tournaments. This is open for everyone to do, but if you would like to be an OFFICIAL
PHOTOGRAPHER for PinBrawl, please take the time to sign up. Official PinBrawl
Photographers will be expected to take pictures in the 100's. We want everyone to
surf the website and be able to find themselves at one point or another.
