Duties of a referee:
To expedite the process of getting a ruling resolved between teams, we have designated some players at this year's tournaments as Referees to help consult teams that feel some type of ruling is needed or a malfunction has occurred. These referees consist of players that have not only PinBrawl experience, but also vast amounts of other tournament experience.
Because we think of PinBrawl as the players tournaments, we hope that many potential problems can be resolved fairly between any teams involved. If an agreement cannot be made, teams should look to grab a referee that is not involved in the incident.
The referees are available to offer guidance to the teams on how we would typically handle a similar situation, and can even make rulings themselves based on the printed tournament rules provided by the tournament directors.
Tournament directors John Kosmal and/or Josh Sharpe can ultimately be called in for a final ruling, but it is our intention that these referees possess the knowledge and fairness to reach a decision that works best in any given situation.
Referees will also help teams tabulate scoresheets if they are having problems during a match, or after a match is concluded.
