What it is all about & why you should play
PinBrawl is the ultimate team pinball competition. It is currently the world's only tournament to offer so many different formats. Although the competition in PinBrawl is as fierce as any other tournament around, PinBrawl has always been about FUN first.
PinBrawl is the world's only tournaments to feature up to five different skill levels of play. Anyone from pinball wizards to beginners has a chance to not only walk out with some great prizes, but as champions. PinBrawl also stresses this importance by awarding the same trophy sizes for every division regardless of skill level.
PinBrawl features a free raffle for all participants and those bringing games. Through the help of many vendors and individuals, PinBrawl has been able to raffle off tons of pinball memorabilia each year.
PinBrawl has Best in Show Awards for those people that bring games for the tournaments. Even if you don't want to participate, the chance to show off your game and possibly win an award is a great way to get recognized for the hard work you put in to restoring your game and have it properly working.
Game selection has always been a staple of the PinBrawl format. Most tournaments are strictly played on post-1992 DMD games, while PinBrawl has always used games from all eras. Not only does this level out the playing field for the participants, but it allows many old and great games to be used in tournaments for the first time. A signature move in Pinbrawl events is that if you ever feel outmatched by an opposing team, you simply take them *OLDSCHOOL* (playing on an EM machine over a newer machine which allows more control) where the LUCK FACTOR increases and the skill level diminishess.
At the end of the day, PinBrawl is all about *camaraderie*. Competitive pinball is usually a solitary sport, and PinBrawl has made it possible to play in groups with your closest friends, or with new friendly people just like you for the possibility of meeting many other people throughout the matches during the tournament. Many players will say that it was the sole reason they attended Pinball Expo, so don't miss your chance to get in the action!
